Today, Palestine Legal sent a letter to the University of Chicago president, calling on the administration to immediately condemn and investigate the latest poster campaign by the David Horowitz Freedom Center. On Thursday, October 20, a number of defamatory, hateful posters were found around campus targeting students due to their support for Palestinian rights.

The letter comes nearly one year after Palestine Legal sent a similar letter documenting a pattern of harassment, intimidation, and threats against Palestinians and students who speak out in support of Palestinian rights at the University of Chicago.

The Horowitz posters have appeared this month on ten college campuses across the country. They repeat false and inflammatory accusations against individual faculty, students, and student groups. The poster campaign has been widely condemned and covered by the LA TimesThe Guardian and NPR.

Although the Horowitz Center is widely viewed as an extremist hate group, its strategy is in line with broader efforts of mainstream pro-Israel advocacy organizations, Israeli officials, and U.S. government officials to suppress support for Palestinian rights by branding it antisemitic.
